Master solar Energy: engineering and economics

The Master program "Solar energy: engineeringe and economics, is a highly innovative, new degree program preparing to tackle present and future challenges of the energy transition. It is a part of Solar Academy Graduate School awarded to University of Savoie Mont Blanc.

The two-year master program, is composed of two tracks:

Solar Academy

The University Research School (EUR) of the University Savoie Mont Blanc, is located on the Bourget-du-lac campus, on the premises of the INES (National Institute of Solar Energy) and next to the Polytech Annecy-Chambéry engineering school.

Its mission is to become a national and international leader in scientific research, engineering, business, economics and law for a low-carbon model of distributed production and production and consumption model with low carbon emissions. At the heart of its organisation is a multi-disciplinary approach, to enable the large-scale use of the solar energy resource. The challenge is to transform this potential into real electricity electricity production.

The Solar Academy combines practice and theory in the fields of solar and building physics, scientific and building physics, computer science, materials science, business law, sociology of architecture and urban planning.

International

Courses are taught by international experts and highly recognized partners from national and international research institutions and industry as well as by academic staff of University Savoie Mont Blanc.

Disciplinary and international mobility, as well as immersion in an international research environment, are an integral part of the curriculum, bringing added value to students in terms of training and research.

Grants for international mobility, awards for best projects as well as scholarships awarded for excellent academic results are available.

Advantages of the training

  • An innovative introduction to engineering science
  • Solar energy, a fast-growing sector of renewable energy
  • Energy efficiency in the building sector, responsible for more than 40% of global primary energy consumption
  • A unique multidisciplinary education
